OnePlus 8 review

Here comes one of the most awaited smartphone -OnePlus 8 which starts from 42K for the Indian exclusive variant. With this OnePlus has tried their best to go from flagship killer to flagship level. But has it happened? In this review I will tell you it pros and cons, and why you should or should not buy this. Let's start-

Built Quality

At first the phone feels premium and really light. It weight about 184 grams. But it doesn't feel like it,the in hand feel is very good and the glassy back with matt finish gives it a nice premium look, but you have to be careful cause like all the glass back it may break also. Like almost all the flagships now it also doesn't have 3.5mm jack.

Display

It has a 90Hz FHD sAmoled Display with 3D gorilla glass from front to back with metal between them. The screen size is 6.55inch with HDR10+ support. It is almost bezel less and as for the top and bottom,the chin is very small. The colors and viewing angle of OnePlus 8 are topclass.

Processor and Performance

It is powered by Snapdragon 865 which supports 5G with LPDDR4X ram, UFS 3.0 storage type. As for the gaming it has Adreno 650 GPU. It came in 3 different Ram variant 6GB,8GB, and 12GB among which 6GB is India specific only.
As for the performance it does what you can expect from Snapdragon 865, you can do any task without any problems, doesn't matter if it is game or multitasking. The face unlock and fingerprint scanner works quite fast also.

Audio and Video

The audio is great and loud because of the stereo speakers on top and bottom. The video viewing experience is great and if you are someone who enjoys video on mobile then you would like it.

Battery

It has 4300 mAh battery with 30W warp charging from OnePlus but doesn't have wireless charging support. You can see very good battery back as 865 is optimized for low battery consumption

OS and UI

It works on Oxygen OS 10.5 based on Android 10. This is one of the cleanest and your friendly UI you find. It will give you the same experience as stock android. You don't have to worry about any blotware and ads.

Camera

Sadly One plus 8fails in this department.It has 48MP Primary camera with sony IMX586 sensor which honestly is very outdated, OIS and EIS, 16MP Ultrawide and 2MP macro Camera which is not that great or almost useless in my opinion. And as for the selfie it has 16MP camera with Sony IMX471,f2.45 and EIS. The main camera can shoot videos upto 4K 60FPS.

Final Verdict

This phone has some major issues which makes it difficult for me to recommend this. Here is the list
1- No wireless charging
2- Punch hole display which is a downgrad from it's previous phones Like 7T or 7pro which has pop-up camera.
3- Average camera performance and 2MP macro lens while you can get telephone lens in 7TPro.
4- No IP68 certificate.
So if you already have a 7T or 7T pro them there is no reason for upgrade and if it is your first OnePlus device them 7Tpro is better option in my opinion.

Infinix has launched their Hot 9 series. This series has 2 phones Hot 9 and Hot 9 pro. The main difference between these two is just of their camera.
